We are seeking an experienced Fine Letterpress/Foiling Operator to join our state-of-the-art production facility in Richmond. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in fine printing techniques—including letterpress and hot foil stamping—along with extensive experience operating specialized print equipment.

What You'll Do

• Machine Operation: Skillfully set up and operate letterpress and foiling machines to execute designated print orders.
• Quality Control: Uphold our high standards by ensuring flawless quality, precise registration, and consistency in every print run.
• Maintenance: Perform routine adjustments and maintenance on machinery to guarantee optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Technical Expertise: Implement fine make-ready techniques to achieve exact ink mixing and accurate color reproduction—a hallmark of exceptional letterpress work.
• Communication: Keep management promptly informed of any technical issues or necessary process adjustments.
• Task Execution: Follow detailed instructions and complete all tasks as assigned by your supervisor, adhering to industry standards at every step.

Who You Are

• Experienced Professional: You bring a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the printing/graphic communications industry.
• Detail-Oriented: Your keen attention to detail ensures precision in both the mixing of inks for letterpress and the handling of hot foil stamping processes.
• Passionate and Appreciative: You have a deep passion for the print-making process and a genuine appreciation for the art of handling fine paper, recognizing its significance in crafting exceptional products.
• Technically Proficient: You possess an in-depth knowledge of letterpress operations—including mastery of ink formulation and color accuracy—and have a strong familiarity with hot foil stamping techniques.
• Independent & Proactive: You work effectively on your own initiative, taking pride in delivering high-caliber, consistent results.
• Excellent Communicator: You have strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions within the team and with management.
• Portfolio Ready: A portfolio demonstrating previous work in both letterpress and hot foil stamping is highly regarded.

What You Need

• Relevant Experience: You must have experience working in a similar setting with a background in Letterpress/Foiling, ideally from a studio environment where these techniques and duties are executed regularly.
• Mandatory Expertise: A minimum of 3 years experience operating the Heidelberg Windmill or Equivalent printing press is required.
• Software Proficiency: While not critical, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is an asset.
• Full-Time Availability: You are available to start immediately and can commit to a full-time schedule.

Work Schedule and Compensation

This full-time position offers flexible shift options, including:

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Later shifts may also be available

Starting Wage: $24–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
