A top of the line bicycle brand like Specialized deserves a top of the line business card. These unique cards were produced on 36pt dark brown kraft 100% recycled paper with the objective of producing them with the most vivacious colour possible. The only way to achieve the beautiful vibrancy in the colours was to incorporate the specialty printing of foil printing and silkscreening. The front of this card involves four different colours of foil and on the back the white silkscreening contrasts pleasantly with the dark brown paper. As well, with foil printing we can also control the impression, and this design has a nice impression giving it a distinct look and feel.
One of the biggest hindrances faced with the brown kraft cards is that printed colours lose their effect and vibrancy when they sublimate into the stock. By going with foil printing here the colours are still visually strong, as opposed to regular ink which would have seeped into the uncoated paper and dulled the colour.
