For over a decade, Jukebox has been producing the most amazing and unique embossed business cards. For our customers, adding an embossed element to their business card adds a sense of sophistication, indulgence, and elegance that no other technique can replicate. The raised impression of embossing always adds a sense of class to any design.
Embossing a business card makes elements of it stand out by raising specific areas of one side of the card. Most of our customers don't realize that the opposite effect happens to the reverse side of the card - this is called debossing. One of the unique aspects of this printing method is that you can not have an embossed effect without having a deboss effect — and vice versa. So when customers come and collect their embossed card, some worry about the impression left at the back of the card ruining its appearance.
Even though it is a personal preference, we love the natural impression left at the back of an embossed business card. The textured, intricate detail made from the deep impression of the die plates gives both sides of the card an artistic look and a distinct feel. When creating embossed business cards for luxury jewelry artisan, Ruka Rei chose to keep the natural exposed deboss. The 20pt soft cotton stock with blind embossing and registered gold foil reflected her deep appreciation for Alaska's great frontier's sacred beauty and wildness while remaining practical. It also reflected the Ruka.Co Jewelry's — her jewelry business — fresh, modern and durable approach.
Benefits Of Letting The Deboss Impression Show
Cost-Effective:
Covering up the reverse side of your embossed business card will cost much more than leaving it as is. It will also take much longer to produce.
Sleek & Slender:
We know that thick business cards do not appeal to most people. To cover up the natural deboss on your business card, you'll need to opt for a thicker 2ply card. Additionally, keeping it single ply makes the embossed effect even more significant.
Natural Look & Feel:
If you're opting for a natural look and feel, leaving the back debossed side exposed and untouched shows the true beauty of the card stock.
Leave a lasting impression by showcasing the beauty, integrate design and craftmanship left on the reverse side of your embossed business card.
Design Detail:
By covering up the back of a business card, the receiver only gets to experience half of the design and print method detail. Showcasing both sides allows the receiver to fully see and appreciate all the detail and hard work put into the card.
Two-In-One Experience:
Allowing both sides of your embossed business card to be exposed means that you're essentially getting two different designs applied to one card. The deboss imprint is a masterpiece of its own.
